pregnant3Antenatal care
Full pregnancy care and post-natal checks are provided. Clinics are held on Wednesdays from 1:30 to 3.15pm by appointment.

Asthma
Regular clinics are held for those suffering from asthma. Treatment is continually advancing and we can help you to understand how to minimise the effect asthma has on you.

Blood pressure or hypertension
This is a major cause of heart and circulatory problems. All patients are requested to use the surgery blood pressure machine located in reception on each visit. 

Cervical smears
Women aged 25 and 49 are invited to have three-year cervical smears and women aged 50 – 65 are invited to have five-year cervical smears. This simple, straightforward procedure only takes a few minutes and could save your life. 

vaccination1Child health and immunisation
Full immunisation is recommended for all children. Development and regular health checks are given by the doctors and/or health visitor at the practice. Baby clinics are held on alternate Thursdays from 1.30 to 3.30pm. Please make an appointment by telephoning Eldred Drive Clinic on 01689 837005.

Dentistry
We have a fully-equipped dental surgery in which the dental surgeon provides treatment to patients by appointment.

Diabetes
There is a regular clinic with advice available from the doctors, dietitian and nurses. Long-term complications are minimised by appropriate care and control. All diabetic patients should register with the clinic.

Family planning
Advice on contraception, pre-conception counselling, sterilisation counselling and family planning are provided, as well as regular check-ups with your doctor and/or nurse.

Flu vaccination is recommended for all patients over 65 years and those with long-standing chest complaints, diabetes, liver or kidney disease and many other chronic illnesses.

Stop-smoking sessions
Advice is provided for those who wish to give up smoking and so reduce the risk of heart disease and lung disorders.

Treatment room
We have a modern, purpose-designed treatment room where special services are provided. These include suture removal, ECGs, minor surgery, sigmoidoscopy, hormone implants.

Travel advice
We offer travel advice for patients planning an overseas visit, especially to high-risk areas. Advice should be sought at least six weeks before departure by appointment with the nurse.

Weight Monitoring
Besides helping those who wish to lose weight, advice is available from our nurses for patients with special dietary needs.

Everyone over the age of 75 can request an annual general check-up.
